Robyn Dixon Costa

Robyn Dixon Costa, D.M.A., teaches the Alexander Technique, which, helps people learn to use their bodies in the most efficient and pain-free way possible.

 

Dr. Costa is also dedicated to helping performers connect with their audience in meaningful ways. In 2012, she developed a course at the Penn State School of Music entitled The Teaching Artist Initiative that helped students create innovative programs that engaged audiences with interactive activities. Currently, she is the faculty advisor for the new Penn State Classical Music Student Ambassador Program. This program teaches students to become arts advocates and elevates the role of classical music in the greater Penn State community. She also teaches in the Penn State eLearning department.

 

An accomplished performer, Dr. Costa is the English hornist with the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra, principal oboist of the Pennsylvania Centre Orchestra and a member of the Music at Penn’s Woods Festival Orchestra.
